Getting started
Run the minimal workspace example with SQLite and local uploads.
Prerequisites
Use Node.js 22.17 or newer and the repository-pinned pnpm 8.3.1 through Corepack. Start from the repository root.
corepack enable
corepack pnpm install
corepack pnpm exec turbo run build --filter='./packages/*'Configure the minimal template
cp templates/nextjs-minimal/.env.example templates/nextjs-minimal/.env
corepack pnpm --filter @hackkit/template-nextjs-minimal plugin:sync
corepack pnpm --filter @hackkit/template-nextjs-minimal db:migrate
corepack pnpm --filter @hackkit/template-nextjs-minimal db:seed
corepack pnpm dev:minimalOpen localhost:3000. Create an account and complete HackTag, user data, and hacker registration. No cloud credentials are needed for local development.
The committed .env.example documents the variables. The local .env is empty until you configure it and is ignored by Git.
Run the full template
Repeat the setup using templates/nextjs-full, the package filter @hackkit/template-nextjs-full, and corepack pnpm dev:full. Run one template at a time on port 3000.
Root db:* commands target the full template. Use an explicit package filter when working with minimal. Each template stores its own SQLite database and uploads in its own .data directory.
Next steps
Read configuration, database operations, and owner access. New accounts never become owners automatically.
